Tucked away in an old, converted slaughterhouse along the train tracks in Roskilde, the new co-working space, BANEN officially opened its doors in November of 2023. The space is shared by INSP! Roskilde and Corolab on the first floor and Headspace on the ground floor. In collaboration with the interior architect, Trine Ryhdal of Bacus CPH, Triboo provided sustainable furniture for BANEN's entire first floor.
"The new facilities contribute to the job satisfaction of all of us, where aesthetics and functionality meet all expectations, while the chosen solutions are based on recycled materials and recycled products. A fantastic environment has been created that feels right to be a part of and contribute to"
- Karolina E. Osipowska, Director, Corolab
.
With less CO2, less material and no waste, Trine's interior design vision for the space was green in all aspects.
The project was driven by a sustainable mission and saved a whopping 830 kg in CO2 emissions just by choosing #GREENGRIDZ. That's 36 desktops measuring 120x80 cm. They opted for an open edge #GREENGRIDZ desktop with a beautiful pistachio linoleum finish.
The floor consists of an entrance area which boasts second-hand lounge furniture, a large open-plan office space, two meeting rooms and a small kitchen area. The entrance has a lounge area and four desks with #GREENGRIDZ desktops which welcome visitors into the space. The larger open-plan office has 32 desks with #greengridz desktops and each workspace is divided with second-hand partition walls.
As you walk into the smaller meeting room, you're greeted with a bold green round table pressed from post-consumer waste. The bigger meeting room has three rectangular tables with plastic tabletops. The are made from recycled HDPE plastic and pressed into beautiful, sturdy tabletops serving as a daily reminder that it was saved from going to waste.
A beautiful IVY planter from our NeverEnding Furniture range enjoys a spotlight in the space. The NeverEnding IVY planter is 3D printed from hemp and looks even better once a big, green plant has been placed inside.
During the opening reception, the visitors were told the story of Triboo's mission for less CO2, less material and no waste and everyone left feeling inspired.
The project is a testament to the fact that you can furnish a co-working space in a completely circular way.
