A year ago, Jan Steenkamer, owner of Creafort and Marc van der Heijden, owner of TRIBOO met. Two entrepreneurs driven by an urge for innovation and convinced that made in the Netherlands stood for something and stands for something. By combining Jan's 5 promises with Marc's idea of turning worthless waste into valuable circular office furniture, an innovative idea was born. Reinventing an existing design legend, the table program ROR, with less material, less CO2 and less waste.

Tables from Creafort last for generations and are made from premium selected solid oak and American walnut. Wood also stores CO2, so where else can you profit?

With Marc's innovative lightweight #greengridz tabletop. Depending on the thickness of the top you need between 60 and 90% less material, you reduce the CO2 footprint by 60% compared to a heavy solid top made of chipboard, plywood or mdf. At the end of the life of the tabletop, a pyrolysis process turns it into activated carbon that is used as a raw material for water and air filters.

A match made in heaven. Until Jan indicated he wanted a rejuvenated edge to the top full of air chambers. Exactly as designer Frank Weil had originally conceived. This was the starting shot of more than six months of pioneering to create a high-quality #greengridz tabletop. In a rectangle, oval and round shape with a tapered edge.

Through trial and error, we succeeded. A #greengridz table top with a chic look, where the top seems to float above the base. The legend was reinvented.
