A legendary circular piece of furniture made from 114 refrigerators or the equivalent of 455 kilograms of raw materials is back at TRIBOO. At 4.80 meters long 1.20 meters wide, this table made from upcycled refrigerators is an imposing sight. With a high-profile design, this high-profile meeting table is made to last more than a lifetime.
In 2016, TRIBOO furnished the office of Lokhorst construction and development, becoming the first circular contractor in Europe to work on waste! In the interior, the circular economy and waste-free society was made visible by transforming over 1,500 kilograms of waste fibers, 600 kilograms of recycled plastics and 225 kilograms of reclaimed wood into valuable circular office furnishings.
Together with TRIBOO she took the first steps to take responsibility for the valuable resources that are unconsciously thrown away. 150 workstations, a mega meeting table made of old refrigerators, 3D robotically printed chairs, reused sheet piling that has been in the water for 80 years to cover old cabinets, tables made of waste fibers, landing islands made of compressed straw and even the meeting table/table tennis table, signing and separation stations are made of waste fibers.
Due to change in the organization, the table could no longer be placed and TRIBOO received a take back request via the NFC chip that is on the product. After paying the raw material value, the table is now back at TRIBOO to look for a new place to shine after a small pit stop.
There is now a unique opportunity for organisations to start using and caring for this legendary table and its accompanying 3D printed chairs again. This will allow you to furnish the COOLEst and most talked-about space in your office with a fantastic story of how to turn worthless waste into valuable circular office furniture.
