THE STORY OF THE ROBUST OAK TREE TABLE

The Oak is a tree that grows in the Veluwe, among other places. The wood has many applications. It is used for floors, furniture, kitchens and wooden outbuildings.

Oak comes in many qualities, we chose the robust Oak logs for the REDWOOD log tables. These logs were selected and cut in cooperation with the Dutch Forestry Commission. Because of the varied growth, these logs have a unique color hue and many knots. This makes the logs very suitable for the production of furniture.

The logs are sawn into sheets of about 58 mm thick and still possess the original side. These boards with a robust appearance are then dried to 12-14%. This makes them suitable for indoor applications. Usually the sheets have a size of about 40 cm wide and about 300 cm long.
