'MATERIALS AND RAW MATERIALS ARE CONSTANTLY PASSING THROUGH NEW USERS'

"The bottomline is that we are aiming for a definitive mindshift in the market," the pair concludes. "Products will become a commodity bank from now on.

With a desktop that is 100% circular, Dekker Zevenhuizen shows that in finding cooperation partners it has a keen eye for a green and sustainable future. For some time now there has been an intensive cooperation with Zevenhuizen-based TRIBOO. "The common goal? A waste-free society."

"Do we realize enough that waste costs too much money?" kicks off Marc van der Heijden of TRIBOO. "As far as I'm concerned, from now on we look at waste in a different way. Or rather, couldn't we much better start defining a journey of materials through the chain? I am convinced that we should start to see raw materials - or the material - much more as a value carrier and not as a cost carrier. In fact, you should be able to reuse materials infinitely. So, if an end user of a desk - to take just one example - decides he doesn't want to use that desk after a few years, that he can then sell the material again to the next user. So the end user no longer exists. It's the other way around: materials and raw materials pass through new users all the time."

"In this way, the 'healthy workplace' is given a much more interesting meaning," says Ben van Elk, responsible for marketing at Dekker Zevenhuizen. "For example, #GREENGRIDZ is a healthy and circular furniture construction panel from which, among other things, you can make lightweight desk tops with 60% less material. This is a unique innovation for the office industry whose CO2 emissions are even 60% lower than solid desk tops. The #GREENGRIDZ desktop is healthy and 100% circular; for example, there are no toxic binders in it. I see it as an adapter of material in different waste streams. After its use as a desktop, it will be given another role or function by the next user. But actually the profit is at the beginning of the chain where the true circular choice for production has already been made. #GREENGRIDZ thus."

DISBURSEMENT OF COMMODITY VALUE

"Only in this way - and with this way of thinking - can we have previously worthless waste transformed into a valuable raw material that is stored in the piggy bank of #GREENGRIDZ. The user who returns the panels at the end of their useful life is then also paid the raw material value. We then turn the raw material into new circular products. So the CO2 emissions come to a minimum." According to the pair, this development around #GREENGRIDZ is just the beginning.

"The bottomline is that we are aiming for a definitive mindshift in the market," the pair concludes. "Products will become a commodity bank from now on. Residual value is more important than ever. From now on, buyers will also start taking into account the future resale value of their purchases. In short, it is too bizarre for words that an end user has always paid for waste disposal. Now an end user can earn something from it."
