Together we planned and 120 Mountaineers are now happy with their healthy workplace at home and in the office.
We can only offer you the best service if we innovate and stay healthy ourselves. That's why at Iron Mountain we work every day to improve our processes and make our organisation more sustainable. We recently started looking for new, sustainable home offices for our employees in the Netherlands and Belgium. We decided to go with office designer TRIBOO.
Nick de Smedt, Operations Director Benelux, about the new workplaces: "We find it important that our employees can work in a healthy and safe way. At home and at the office. Of course, the ergonomic workplace had to look attractive and fit well into everyone's interior. But the amount of material used, CO2 emissions, toxic substances, origin and reusability were also important. After all, this project is part of our sustainable transformation plans to contribute to a better environment."
Workplace with 60% less CO2 emissions
Iron Mountain ultimately chose the circular home office from office designer TRIBOO. This includes a desktop made from waste fibres, which reduces material by 18kg and CO2 emissions by 60%. Its light weight and production in the Netherlands saves fuel in transport, further reducing CO2 emissions.
The workplace provides a healthy working and living environment without toxic substances such as formaldehyde. The CARB2 certification is proof of this. The construction also bears the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, a very strict and recognised Nordic environmental label for ecological products.
120 Mountaineers now work safely and healthily
The delivery of 120 workstations was a big logistical job that had to be done in a short time. "Fortunately, the communication with our employees and those of TRIBOO went well. Together we made a plan and now 120 Mountaineers are happy with their healthy workplace at home and at the office. And our customers benefit from that, too," Nick says.
