#GREENGRIDZ FURNITURE CONSTRUCTION PANELS SOLUTION RAW MATERIAL SHORTAGE EUROPEAN FURNITURE INDUSTRY

All the material you don't use, you don't have to produce. Practical solution that gives substance to SDG12.

The European furniture industry is sounding the alarm due to a shortage of raw materials. It makes a major contribution to the EU economy, generating an annual turnover of EUR 96 billion and employing around 1 million workers in 120 000 companies across the EU. Shortages of raw materials lead to longer delivery times and higher prices every week. Large price increases have been recorded for wood and wood-based panels such as chipboard, MDF and plywood. Supply bottlenecks are expected to increase, especially in the coming months and early next year. #GREENGRIDZ, the furniture construction panel with a healthy mission offers a solution to the acute shortage of raw materials. Produce more furniture panels with less material and emit less CO2.

60% TO 90% LESS MATERIAL NEEDED FOR A #GREENGRIDZ PANEL

With a 24mm #GREENGRIDZ lightweight furniture construction panel, 60% less material is used than a solid top made of chipboard, MDF or plywood. With a 100mm sheet, only 10% solid material is left in the lightweight construction. With #GREENGRIDZ, depending on the thickness of the panel, between 60 and 90% less raw material is extracted from Mother Earth. The material is simply not needed anymore to make a strong lightweight furniture construction.

FROM THE MATERIAL OF 1 MASSIVE FURNITURE PANEL YOU MAKE 3 #GREENGRIDZ PANELS

The weight of solid furniture panels is heavy. Compared to #GREENGRIDZ this makes a difference of approximately 60%. The weight per m2 of a 38 mm furniture panel is approximately 18 kg for plywood, 25 kg for chipboard and 8 kg for #GREENGRIDZ. The #GREENGRIDZ furniture panel is available from 24 mm to 200 mm. As the panel gets thicker, the weight benefits increase significantly and the material required decreases exponentially. In terms of weight per m3, chipboard averages 650 kg, plywood 800 kg and #GREENGRIDZ 250 kg.

YOU DON'T NEED TO PRODUCE MATERIAL THAT YOU DON'T USE.

If we use this crisis to change and replace solid panels with lightweight #GREENGRIDZ panels, billions of kilos of material could be saved every year. The impact on material use and CO2 emissions would be huge. This can contribute to the realisation of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) on an industrial scale. This avoids the use of materials. It doesn't get more sustainable and circular than that!

PRACTICAL SOLUTION TO SDG12 PRODUCING MORE WITH LESS

The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are seventeen goals to make the world a better place in 2030. The SDGs were agreed by the countries affiliated with the United Nations (UN), including the Netherlands. The goals were established based on global input from organisations and individuals. The Sustainable Development Goals started in 2015 and run until 2030. They are a global compass for challenges such as poverty, education and the climate crisis.

SDG 12 ENSURE SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION PATTERNS

The production of our goods must be much more convenient in view of the growing world population: 'producing more with less'. Billions of solid panels are produced every year, the industrial potential for saving material with #GREENGRIDZ is astronomical. Billions of kilos less material and CO2 simply by using a lightweight furniture panel.

THE FURNITURE INDUSTRY CAN MAKE A SUBSTANTIAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE REDUCTION OF RAW MATERIALS AND CO2
