Our mission is clear and uncompromising: To make every piece of furniture in the Netherlands healthy, responsible and circular.
In a joint development, TRIBOO and ECOR are coming to market with an innovative lightweight furniture panel #GREENGRIDZ ECOR. Made from cellulose waste residues from old milk cartons, the CO2 footprint is 60% lower than traditional solid sheets. The furniture panel is 60% lighter and CARB2 certified. With this, it meets the highest requirements, when it comes to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as FORMALDEHYDE.
Our mission is clear and uncompromising: To make every piece of furniture in the Netherlands healthy, responsible and circular. Making impact on an industrial scale, in reducing waste and reducing CO2, no one can do alone. Therefore, the healthy and reusable alternative to traditional heavy panels becomes available to all. We do this together with furniture manufacturers, interior builders, decorators and anyone who wants to process furniture panels into sustainable solutions.
The patented GRID combined with ECOR's material technology creates a circular, lightweight desktop with the lowest CO2 emissions in the Netherlands. It contains no harmful, toxic substances such as added FORMALDEHYDE. It requires fewer raw materials, is biodegradable and is made in the Netherlands.
TRIBOO functions as a bank that temporarily lends its valuable resources in the form of furniture to organizations. If changes in the organization or market mean that the customer needs to function differently and requires different furniture to facilitate this, TRIBOO gets the furniture back. For the new demand we then develop and produce other circular furniture from the same raw material. For example, a desk top can change into a kitchen, wall, flower box or again into a desk top. With a design based on the identity of the organization.
ECOR is a sustainable, 100% recycled material made from local waste streams. Natural fibres such as old paper, textiles and miscanthus are converted into a high-quality raw material. The material is versatile, biobased, non-toxic and fully recyclable. The material is multifunctional, strong, lightweight and can be shaped in many ways.
The raw material for ECOR consists of biomass instead of fossil raw materials. The biomass comes from crops that grow on land or in the sea. Residual flows from forestry, agriculture and recycled urban waste. This gives ECOR two important advantages over fossil raw materials. Firstly, it can be converted into another product with maximum retention of the high quality of the raw material and minimal production of waste. Secondly, biomass is CO2 neutral because of its short carbon cycle. ECOR is 100% non-toxic, completely cradle to cradle (certified) and formaldehyde-free.
ECOR is made of water and natural fibres using heat and pressure. No adhesives are used in the production process and 99% of the water used is recycled. The process is CO2 neutral. The production of, for example, office furnishings based on this sustainable material is clean and simple. The material can be cut with a laser and processed with tools. The production generates no waste. Sawdust goes back to the ECOR factory.
#GREENGRIDZ is used for various circular applications such as desk tops, furniture, cabinets, sliding doors, acoustic panels, wall systems, signage, thick floors, stands for trade fairs, shop fitting and interior decoration.
