Today was the shooting for Do something sustainable! A 17-part video production by FMN - Facility Management Nederland and Ifmec on how the facilities field can contribute to the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Achieving the SDGs is a huge challenge worldwide and will only succeed if all companies and institutions make an effort. Facility Management has a major influence on all SDGs, but how do we put this into practice? Today, with enormous enthusiasm and drive, Yvette Watson took the viewers into the world of SDG 12, responsible consumption and production.  

Today, Koos Wagensveld (Professor at Radboud University, Lecturer at the HAN and Academic Director of the master circular economy), Rob Klinkert (Senior Portfolio Manager Facility Management at PwC), Tjeerd Steendam (Manager Development & Projects at FMHaaglanden) and Marc van der Heijden (Director owner TRIBOO and EverUse) gave scientific, pragmatic and inspiring examples that everyone in the facility management field can work with to make this wonderful field more sustainable.

SDG 12 - Responsible consumption and production.

The world's population is growing at a rapid pace and with it the use of natural resources for consumption and production. This leads to the depletion of the earth. The production of our goods must be much more convenient in view of the growing world population. By using natural resources more efficiently, we can produce more with fewer resources. Facilities departments are responsible for a large part of the raw material flows within organizations and can therefore exert a positive influence on the chain.
