I want to create a healthy and happy office where the health of my employees, environmental awareness and circularity must play the leading role.
Dickjan Hoogstraten has recently started working on a circular no-electric sit-stand workplace. He is a multi entrepreneur, consciousness coach, artist and has a slightly different outlook on life than the average citizen. As managing director of Hoogstraten Packaging in Gorinchem, the working environment was in need of renewal. Dickjan wanted to create a healthy and happy office where the health of his employees, environmental awareness and circularity would play the leading roles. His choice for workstations was the No Electric sit-stand desks by TRIBOO.
What I really like about the No Electric is that you can change from sitting to standing work in a split second. I have never seen such a quick and easy height adjustment. And of course, it's great that it doesn't consume any electricity and therefore doesn't cause any CO2 emissions. In the longer term, you earn your money back and you don't burden the environment. A win-win situation.
What I also find a strong plus is the reduced use of material. I chose a #GREENGRIDZ desktop of 2000x800mm and 40mm thick. This gives me a robust looking desktop and saves 70% material compared to a traditional solid desktop. The CO2 emissions are 60% lower. In addition, the light weight of the #GREENGRIDZ desktop reduces the weight of the mechanism of the desk by more than 20 kg. And simply put, what you don't use, you don't have to reuse.
The finishing of the #GREENGRIDZ desktop is done with ARPA FENIX Bloom, using lignin technology to significantly reduce the amount of phenol contained in the resin by 50%. Lignin is a natural polymer defined as the glue that holds wood fibres together.
The perfect combination with the No Electric desk was the ergonomic office chair made from old recycled fishing nets from the ocean. About one kilo per chair to be precise. Like the desk, it has a lightweight design that minimises the impact on the environment. The base is made of 100% recycled aluminium and the simple modular design makes it easy to disassemble and maintain. You can replace or upgrade any part of the chair instead of replacing the chair as a whole. That really appeals to me.
All in all, you can say that by purchasing a healthy and circular No Electric workstation, you can make your own contribution to the development of the circular economy and the realisation of a waste-free society. And I am proud of that!
