When you walk into the circular office of Chrysalix in ROBOVALLEY nothing is what is seems. All furniture is made from healthy waste fibres and 100% circular.
When you walk into the circular office of Chrysalix it apears to be a nice and normal office. But that is far from the truth. Nothing is what is seems. All of the furniture is made from waste fibres, healthy materials and is 100% circular.
Together with TRIBOO we designed a healthy office, to work and feel at home. TRIBOO is the circular supply chain who changes "worthless" waste flows with upcyling techniques into healthy and valuable circular design.Together we take responsibility for our raw materials. Instead of wasting or burning them, we use our office and products as luxury warehouses.
To create a healthy workplace for the Chrysalix workers the desks were outfitted with #GREENGRIDZ waste panel desk tops. The super light inner core is made from a grid of waste cellulose fibres from milk cartons. The CO2 emission is 60% lower than a regular desktop from chipboard and free of volatile organic compounds. The proof is the CARB2 certification which is the highest standard as formaldehyde is concerned. At the end of use it can be returned and the raw material value will be paid back to Chrysalix. TRIBOO will create new panels again from the same material and make other circular products.
The acoustic panel between the desks is made from EverUse. Upcycled paper waste which has the highest acoustic absorption in the world. The constructions is modular so the value can be easily retracted and reused at the end of life. In 15 minutes time the EverUse panel will be transformed into a EverUse panel again without using new materials. The Cellulose = CO2 is safely stored at the Chrysalix office for later use.
The meeting room table is made without any screws or glues. 21st century digital technique based on traditional craftsmanship creates friction joints which makes it very easy to disassemble and reuse. All individual parts can be remade so the table can last for a 1000 years. The chairs are made from recycled polypropyleen and wood fibre.
On the bench the new X2 recycled polyester upholstry was used to make first steps on making soft seating a circular sollution. The floor tiles als made from old fishing nets and the paint used on the walls is free of volatile organic compounds and made from lime and graphene with a cradle to cradle gold certifcate.
And last but not least the lamps are made with a robotic 3D printer from old cd’s made from waste polycarbonate. Air is blown into the waste fibers and a lamp emerges which is 250 times stronger dan glass.
